We’ll hold government responsible if anything happens to Ablakwa – North Tongu NDC

Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, MP for North Tongu

Kindly share
Supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the North Tongu Constituency have warned that they will not take it lightly if the Member of Parliament for the area, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa is harmed by the State.

In a strongly-worded statement issued on Friday, the constituents say they have observed how the MP, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, is being heckled in his quest to hold government accountable.

According to the aggrieved party folks, the attempts to prevent Ablakwa from lawfully performing his duties is an indication of government’s “penchant for fighting anybody who shows an aversion towards corruption”.

The statement, signed by the NDC constituency communication officer, Kennedy Mornyuie, therefore stressed that if Ablakwa is harmed as a result of his activism, they will descend heavily on government.

“Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has become a torn in the bad flesh of this corrupt-ridden and incompetent government hence the dastardly and cowardly haste to use the judicial system to frustrate him and ultimately imprison him.

“We are therefore serving a strong warning to the faceless and marauding agents of the state who are bent on seeing the MP imprisoned and cowed into submission”, portions of the statement read.

“Again, we also want to serve notice to the government that, should anything happen to our MP without his human right respected, we shall have no other option than to exercise a positive course of action in its clear terms.

“A word to the wise is enough”, the statement further emphasised.

The warning from the constitunecy comes after an earlier call by former Kumbungu MP, Ras Mubarak, urging Ghanaians to hold President Akufo-Addo and the National Security responsible if Mr Ablakwa is harmed.

According to him, some national security operatives have been assigned to monitor Mr Ablakwa, hence his call on Ghanaians to question the President in case of any misfortune.

In a Facebook post on Wednesday, he said, “Unimpeachable sources say thugs dressed up as national security operatives have been set to tail Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, MP.

“The country should hold the President, the National Security Minister and IGP personally liable if anything happens to the legislator”.

In recent times, Mr Ablakwa has been in the news over his series of publications about the alleged possession of multiple identities by the Board Secretary of the National Cathedral Secretariat, Reverend Victor Kusi Boateng.

Last week, a man, reported to be an official from the court was seen in a viral video, attempting to serve Mr Ablakwa with court processes.

Meanwhile, the Minority in Parliament has also condemned what it describes as government’s “naked and shameful abuse of the judiciary by certain undemocratic elements seeking to gag NDC Members of Parliament” from carrying out their constitutional mandate of oversight.

A toothless dog barking! Who will take it serious?
    You did nothing when:
    1. They stole the 2020 electoral mandate
    2. They massacred 8 at Techiman to intimate protests
    3. They killed 1 at Ejisu to intimidate protests
    4. They closed down media houses and declared war on journalists to gag public exposure of their planned national destruction
    5. Etc, etc
So they can easily get rid of Ablakwa and get away! Afterall they have turned the country’s security into their BRAINLESS AND CONSCIENCELESS YESA MASA POLITICAL BOOTLICKERS AND REDUCED THE JUSTICE SYSTEM INTO THEIR KANGAROO COURT SYSTEM IN A BANANA REPUBLIC.
