The Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, has commended the Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, describing him as one of his sons in whom he is well pleased.
Speaker Bagbin made this statement during a courtesy visit to the leadership of the Asogli State in Ho, where he joined the Chiefs and people to mourn the passing of Mama Agblatsu III, the Divisional Queen Mother of Ho Bankoe.
Although in the region for a parliamentary assignment, the Speaker took time to pay homage and express his condolences to Togbe Afede XIV, Agbogbomefia of the Asogli State, and the people of Asogli.
Togbe Afede XIV warmly welcomed the delegation and expressed his appreciation for the Speaker’s presence. He recalled his long-standing relationship with Rt. Hon. Bagbin and commended him for his unwavering service to the nation.
The Agbogbomefia also emphasized the need for continued collaboration between parliamentary leadership and traditional rulers to drive national development.
In response to the Speaker’s commendation, Hon. James Gunu expressed gratitude for the recognition and reaffirmed his commitment to serving the people of the Volta Region with diligence and integrity.
