Kennedy Agyapong, a hopeful candidate for the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearership, has issued a stern warning to the party regarding the Central Region’s upcoming flagbearership election.
In a recent interview on Neat FM, Agyapong, who serves as a Member of Parliament for Assin Central in the Central Region, expressed his discontent. He emphasized that unless he secures a 100% victory from delegates in the region, he will take drastic action if Vice President Bawumia emerges as the winner in the Central Region.
During the interview, Agyapong launched sharp criticisms at the Central Region Chairman and his executives. He stated, “If they fool, they will see what will happen in the Central Region.”
Agyapong added a veiled threat, stating, “If Bawumia wins in the Central Region, you’ll see what will happen in 2024.”
He directly challenged Chairman Kutin and the Regional Executives, daring them to test his resolve. Agyapong asserted, “What I will do to them in the Central Region, and if they know what is coming, they better give Kennedy Agyapong 100% in the Central Region.”
In addition to his warnings, Agyapong boasted of his courage and financial capacity to engage in political maneuvering, stating, “I am a man. I am not a coward, and I have the money to play mischief.”
This incident follows a series of attacks by Kennedy Agyapong against prominent NPP members, including Vice President Bawumia, Majority Leader Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu, and the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP, among others.
