The Secretary to the John Mahama Campaign in the Volta Region, Hon. James Gunu, has reacted to claims that Former President John Dramani Mahama has preferred Parliamentary candidates in the Volta Region.
In a press release sighted by InsiderGH.com on Thursday, April 27, 2023, Mr. Gunu explained that those who are parading themselves in some Constituencies within the Region claiming that Former President John Dramani Mahama assigned them to campaign for particular Parliamentary Candidates are deceiving delegates.
According to him, any of such mischievous and diabolic claims are blatant falsehoods.
“The Campaign Team wishes to announce to the general public particularly NDC delegates in the Volta Region, that H.E. John Mahama has no preferred candidates, and has not assigned any body to campaign for any parliamentary candidate,” he stated

JOHN MAHAMA HAS NO PREFERRED CANDIDATES IN THE VOLTA REGION.
It has come to the attention of the John Mahama Campaign Team for Volta Region that some individuals and groups are parading themselves in the constituencies claiming H.E. John Dramani Mahama has assigned them to campaign for particular parliamentary candidates. This is absolutely false!
The Campaign Team wishes to announce to the general public particularly NDC delegates in the Volta Region, that H.E. John Mahama has no preferred candidates, and has not assigned any body to campaign for any parliamentary candidate.
This type of malicious campaign is calculated to achieve the following:
1. Create disaffection among delegates and
reduce John Mahama’s votes in the upcoming presidential primaries and to undermine the “OPERATION ALL THE VOTES” for John Mahama in the Volta Region.
2. Use deceit, lies and Political chicanery to dilute the overwhelming support John Mahama is receiving from all the parliamentary aspirants and their supporters.
In view of this mischievous and diabolic agenda, we call on campaign coordinators at all levels of the John Mahama campaign structure to remain focused and not be distracted in order to achieve the targets we set for ourselves.
