Joyce Bawah Mogtari, special aide to former President John Dramani Mahama has expressed unwavering confidence in the former President’s ability to secure victory in Ghana’s December 2024 elections.
Speaking on Eyewitness News on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 in an interview monitored by InsiderGH.com, Joyce Bawah highlighted Mahama’s reputation as a trustworthy leader who consistently delivers on his promises. She pointed to his achievements in infrastructure development during his presidency as a key reason Ghanaians continue to rally behind his candidacy.
According to her, John Mahama has reached a point where he doesn’t need to make grand promises anymore because Ghanaians now recognize him as a credible politician who follows through on his commitments.
“Somehow, Mahama doesn’t have to promise the people anything again, because people have come to realise that Mahama is a credible politician and he walks his talk.”
She further emphasized Mahama’s focus on bridging the infrastructure gap as a cornerstone of his governance, stating that when Mahama promised to develop infrastructure to close gaps and create jobs, he delivered on those promises, and people appreciate the tangible progress he made in improving roads, schools, hospitals, and other critical sectors.
“They have come to know that when Mahama promised that he was developing our infrastructure so that we could close our infrastructure gap and create jobs and opportunities for all, he actually meant it.”
Joyce Bawah also criticized the current administration under President Akufo-Addo, describing it as a “monumental failure” that has left many disillusioned.
“They also appreciate the fact that propaganda and falsehoods that propelled Akufo-Addo and his family and friends into office are actually a government that has monumentally failed the people of Ghana,” she stated.
With Mahama’s proven track record and growing public discontent with the current government, Joyce Bawah believes the former president remains the preferred choice for many Ghanaians as the nation approaches a pivotal election.
