The 7th Volta Trade and Investment Fair officially opens today at the Ho Sports Stadium, marking the start of what is set to be Ghana’s first-ever 24-hour economy fair. The 2025 edition will run nonstop until December 8, turning the region into a live hub of trade, culture, investment, and innovation.
The fair is being hailed as a major step toward the Government of Ghana’s agenda to build a vibrant 24-hour economy. The policy aims to push productivity beyond the usual working hours, expand job opportunities, and strengthen Ghana’s economic competitiveness. By keeping the fair active day and night, organizers say they are showing what a nonstop economy can look like in practice.
According to the Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, excitement has been building ahead of the opening. In a post on his official Facebook page, he wrote, “Volta Fair starts tomorrow, and I invite everyone to be part of it. Come support our local businesses, explore new opportunities, and celebrate the best of our region.”

The Volta Region, with its strong cultural identity and growing economic potential, is seen as an ideal host for this ambitious pilot. The fair serves as a marketplace for goods and services and a space for policy discussions, innovation showcases, and cultural exchange. Exhibitors from across Ghana and beyond are expected to showcase products in agriculture, tourism, crafts, manufacturing, technology, and the creative sector.
Visitors will benefit from round-the-clock networking opportunities as well as business forums, workshops, and live entertainment designed to keep the fair active throughout the night. Organizers say this nonstop format will give businesses more visibility and give patrons more flexibility.
Security teams, lighting systems, and visitor support services have all been enhanced to sustain operations around the clock.
The fair will also spotlight youth innovators who are building solutions in areas like digital tools, green energy, and agritech. Organizers say the goal is to give young creators a platform that can lead to partnerships and funding opportunities.
For many exhibitors, the fair provides not just exposure but also training. Workshops will cover branding, export opportunities, and strategies for business growth, helping local enterprises build capacity for larger markets.

By adopting this forward-looking model, the Volta Fair is showcasing a future where economic activity continues 24 hours a day, creating jobs, supporting entrepreneurs, and inviting investors to be part of Ghana’s growth story.
Organizers are calling on the public to actively participate in this historic moment and take part in a new era of business, innovation, and community engagement.
