In a heart-wrenching incident, a 35-year-old mason named Paul Owusu has reportedly taken his own life in Buokrom in the Ashanti Region.
The apparent trigger was the rejection by a lady he had generously supported through her education when she declared he wasn’t her preferred choice for a romantic relationship.
Assembly member Frederick Adu shared the distressing account, revealing that Paul Owusu had invested significantly in the young woman, hoping for a deeper relationship.
Despite his efforts, the lady, whose identity remains undisclosed, dismissed him, leading to the tragic outcome.
Efforts to contact Owusu through his master mason proved futile, and a grim discovery awaited those searching for him at his residence – when they went to his abode to search for him, he was found hanging.
Adding another layer to the heartbreaking story, the Assemblyman disclosed that Owusu had entrusted the young lady with GHC15,000, only to be denied the money when he requested it.
The rejection, coupled with the lady’s refusal to acknowledge the mason’s advances, painted a picture of unrequited love that ultimately led to this devastating end.
The master of the masons corroborated the details, confirming that the deceased had played a pivotal role in sponsoring the young lady’s education.
