The Office of Former President John Agyekum Kufuor, has moved to quash unfounded rumors circulating across various social media platforms that the esteemed octogenarian has passed away.
In an official statement signed by Kwabena Osei-Adubofour, a senior aide and spokesperson for the former president, it was confirmed that Mr. Kufuor is in good health and actively carrying out his regular duties.
The speculations regarding Mr. Kufuor’s supposed demise began to surface last week and persisted throughout the weekend and into this week.
The former president’s office has firmly labeled these reports as baseless and stemming from malicious intent or potential political motives.
“We wish to categorically deny such an occurrence and state emphatically that the former president is very much alive and well,” the statement read.
The office vehemently urges the public to disregard these misleading and unwarranted rumors, which have no factual basis.
Furthermore, the statement addresses the individuals or groups responsible for propagating these false claims, calling upon them to cease such harmful actions.
The office highlights the frequency of such misinformation and suggests that these individuals may be motivated by mischief-making or unclear political agendas.
“We can only speculate that the perpetrators do so out of mischief-making and possibly for unfathomable political purposes,” the statement mentioned.
The office further expresses sincere prayers for the continuous well-being of Former President John Agyekum Kufuor and emphasizes that he remains in good health.
They, however, urged the public to disregard any unverified information and appeals for a sense of responsibility and integrity in disseminating news and updates concerning public figures.
