H.E Alhaji Said Sinare, the National Chairman of the Zongo Caucus Working Committee of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), has boldly called for the sidelining of divisive “demi-god executives” within his opposition National Democratic Congress.
He emphasized the need for unity and working towards the common goal of winning the 2024 elections. In a social media post, the party’s former National Vice Chairman emphasized that the NDC’s chances of winning the election depend on the party’s ability to unite and work together as one force.
“We cannot enter the 2024 election as a divided force,” Alhaji Sinare emphasized. “It’s unacceptable for some individuals to think that H.E John Dramani Mahama should beg for their forgiveness before they can put aside their grievances and work towards our party’s success. Any executive who stubbornly refuses to put the party’s interests first and make amends for the sake of our collective victory should be sidelined.”
The former High Commissioner and Ambassador to Egypt and Saudi Arabia stressed the importance of avoiding internal conflicts and power struggles, stating that any executive who refuses to prioritize the party’s victory should be sidelined now. His call for unity and sidelining of divisive party executives has been well-received by many party members, who view it as a necessary step towards victory.
The NDC has faced challenges in regaining power since losing the 2016 election to the New Patriotic Party (NPP). Sinare’s call for unity and sidelining of “demi-god party executives” is seen as a proactive move to address the party’s internal conflicts and promote unity.”
Alhaji Sinare’s comments come after weeks of infighting within the NDC, with some executives accusing each other of sabotaging the party’s chances.
“Alhaji Sinare is right,” said one party member. “We need to unite if we want to win. Any executive who is not willing to work for the party’s success should be sidetracked.”
It is sad some people still think John should come and beg them before they join the victory train to rescue suffocating Ghanaians, he said
“We need to act now to ensure our party’s victory,” Alhaji Sinare said. “We cannot afford to waste any more time on infighting and petty squabbles.”
As the election season heats up, the NDC’s ability to unite and work towards a common goal will be crucial in determining their chances of victory.
