Deputy General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Peter Boamah Otokunor has indicated that the future NDC goverment will find all means to remove the current Electoral Commission Chairperson, Jean Adukwei Mensa, from office just as her predecessor was kicked out.

Mr Otokunor who was speaking in an interview with Kumasi-based radio station, Hello FM argued that Madam Jean Mensa does not deserve to occupy the position of an Electoral Commissioner of Ghana.

He argued that the performance of the EC boss in the 2020 general elections was nothing to write home about as the election was characterized by violence that saw at least seven people dead across the country.

“When we (NDC) come to power, we will use all means and procedure used in sacking Madam Charlotte Osei to also kick Jean Mensa out”, he said.

Many analysts criticized the removal of the former EC boss, Charlotte Osei by President Akufo-Addo, describing it as a bad precedent. Madam Charlotte Osei was removed over breach of procurement regulations.
