The Deputy Majority Leader and Member of Parliament for Efutu Constituency in the Central Region, Hon. Alexander Afenyo-Markin has revealed that the Majority Group have no idea about the whereabouts of the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin ahead of proceedings on Monday evening.

According to him, the absence of the Speaker is likely to obstruct government business.

Meanwhile, Minority Chief Whip and MP for Asawase Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka who reacted to the development dismissed the suggestions that the Speaker has taken a deliberate leave to frustrate discussions on the report from the Finance Committee regarding the controversial E-levy Bill.

On his side, the MP for Odododiodio Constituency in the Greater Accra Region, Hon. Edwin Nii Lante Vanderpuye believes that the Speaker just returned from a medical trip in Dubai and must not be forced to risk his health just because the First Deputy Speaker has refused to obey the Standing Orders of the House and the 1992 Constitution.
