The young men seen brandishing guns in a viral video that is widely circulated on social media have broken silence on their video.

Few days ago, a video of alleged Obuasi armed robbers surfaced online after they mistakenly posted their videos in a WhatsApp group where they were seen holding guns and flaunting them.

According to the Obuasi based young men, they are not thieves nor scammers like earlier reports suggested.

The young men revealed that they are into galamsey, and the video in circulation was made just to scare some people who have been fighting them at their galamsey site.

According to them, they have been in constant fights at their place of work and only the toughest get to work, and so the video in which they were seen brandishing guns was meant to threaten those who have taken them for granted for far too long at their place of work

They expressed shock with the trend on social media that they are thieves, with several others calling on the various security agencies to trace and arrest them as early as possible.

The young men further ask Ghanaians to run checks at the Obuasi Division of the Ghana Police Service to see if they have any bad records.

After explaining themselves, they went ahead to curse those who are using the video to tag them as criminals.
