Ranking Member of Parliament’s Education Committee and Member of Parliament for Akatsi North Constituency in the Volta, Hon. Peter Nortsu-Kotoe has urged the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) to do everything possible to track, arrest and punish those responsible for the leakage of WASSCE questions.
Few days ago, investigations by Education Think Tank, Africa Education Watch revealed that 2020 WASSCE questions papers were leaked to candidates.
According to their report, question papers were sent from the IT Department of WAEC to other online platforms which were subsequently forwarded to several candidates.
Reacting to the report, Mr. Nortsu-Kotoe, indicated that they have asked WAEC to liaise with the security agencies that deal in cybercrime to quickly track those people who engaging in these worrying activities of leaking examination questions to candidates.
Mr. Nortsu-Kotoe believes that the security agencies in the country have what it takes to track those who are involved in this act.
According to him, if they track, arrest and punish the perpetrators severely, others will not try it in the coming years.
