Founder and leader of Lighthouse Chapel, Bishop Dag Heward Mills has allegedly descended heavily on His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene of the Asante Kingdom.

In a leaked tape, Bishop Dag Heward Mills was allegedly caught lambasting, slamming and shamming Otumfuo Osei Tutu II for not focusing on bringing development to his people.

According to him, he went to France some time ago and saw the statue of François-Marie Arouet, popularly known as Voltaire, under which they’ve listed the developmental projects he brought to the French society.

Voltaire was a French Enlightenment writer, historian, and philosopher famous for his wit, his criticism of Christianity—especially the Roman Catholic Church—as well as his advocacy of freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and separation of church and state.

The bishop believes that, what Voltaire has achieved is the real definition of Kingship.

According to reports available to, the leaked tape is from inside his kitchen cabinet where he was holding a confidential meeting with his most trusted bishops.

The meeting was secretly recorded and leaked to Kennedy Agyapong who authorized his TV station, Net 2 TV, to play.

In the tape, Bishop Dag Heward Mills was heard attacking the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II for achieving nothing for the Asante people beyond celebrating anniversaries to fill stadiums in pomp pageantry when his people have nothing to show for his leadership.

He also alleged thag Otumfuo sleeps with young girls as King and further stated that he [Otumfuo] should compare himself to the Biblical Solomon.

“If the Otumfuo or whoever is there is the real king of the people, when he goes we say this is what he did for the Asante people…not that he ate more food, travelled to Europe or had more wives and children.”

“That is not the art of being a king…even two-year-olds have birthday parties and every day there is a celebration…one year, 40 days…that is all.”
