While contesting as a presidential candidate for the University of Cape Coast Students Representative Council (SRC) for the 2021/2022 academic year, Samuel Kwabena Adotei (SK), who is presently the president, made numerous campaign promises including providing renewable internet bundle for all students.

It was over five months since SK was elected to deliver on his campaign promises and students tirelessly anticipated the free internet bundle.

What looked like a mirage surprisingly turned out to be a reality when eventually MTN offered 3.4GB of data to all students who confirmed their contacts in their portals.

The SRC promised to issue MTN data SIM cards to students who are non-MTN users.

InsiderGH admits that the step taken by the UCC student leadership is a step in the right direction. It deserves massive commendation.

When student leaders make conscious efforts to implement the very policies that brought them into power, it introduces a certain level of hygiene in student politics.

InsiderGh believes that once student leaders are given the power to steer the affairs of the very people who elected them, it becomes incumbent upon them to do that which is in the best interest of their people. It becomes their obligation to fulfill their promises.

InsiderGH reminds the SRC President of the many promises he made that are yet to be fulfilled such as a driving license for each student, subsidizing shuttle fare, etc.

We hope that the SRC will continue to move on the trajectory of fulfilling promises.
