In 2009, Ghanaian forward Dominic Adiyiah helped Ghana U20 to win the FIFA U20 World Cup. They beat Brazil in the final. Dominic won the tournament golden boot and was named the best player.
After the tournament, many European clubs were interested in Dominic, who was just 20 at the time. He turned many clubs down and joined AC Milan. The move to Milan was the beginning of the END of his football career.
He struggled to get a place in Milan’s team and was loaned out to four different clubs in just two years. He scored just one goal in 31 games combined during the loan spells.
In 2012, he was sold to Ukrainian club Arsenal Kyiv. He spent a year at the club scoring seven goals in 36 games. The following year, he was sold to FC Atyrau in the Kazakhstan Premier League. He scored just one goal in 14 games and was released.
Europe became a difficult ground for him and he moved to Asia to play for Nakhon Ratchasima in Thailand. He spent three years at the club scoring 19 goals in 96 games. In 2019, he joined another Thai club, Sisaket where he scored six goals in 22 games.
After just a year, he moved again to another Thai club, Chiangmai United. He played in the second tier and scored one goal in 11 games. After the 2020 season, he was released. At age 31 Dominic is currently without a team.
