The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has been advised by the Gallant Soldiers of the NDC to stop mounting pressure on the IGP to facilitate the release of Reverend Isaac Owusu Bempah after his arrest last night.

The group believes that the President is busily trying to influence the release of Reverend Isaac Owusu Bempah who is well known as a strong supporter of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

According to the group, it is improper and also amounts to corruption for some invincible hands to obstruct the work of the Ghana Police Service.

According to them, since there’s equality of the law, which implies that nobody is above the law, Owusu Bempah cannot be left to go free after he assaulted personnel from the Ghana Police Service.

They also noted that Owusu Bempah, just like any other Ghanaian has no right to issue threats on anyone’s life.

“The Gallant Cadres of NDC believe it is not too late for Nana Akufo Addo to begin respecting and allowing the 1992 Constitution of Ghana to work,” the statement reads.

According to the statement issued by Mr. Richard E A Sarpong, “the disregard for the Nation’s laws is tantamount to coup d’ etat.”
