Mr. Kofi Bentil, the Vice President of policy think tank IMANI Africa, has joined the teaming number of Ghanaians who have taken to social media to express their thoughts on the recent “dumsor” situation in the country and more importantly Sunday’s nationwide blackout.
As reported earlier by Insidergh.com, at exactly 2:10 on Sunday, March 7, 2021, four days after a severe power outage in various parts of the country, another major blackout, which seemed nationwide, took the country by surprise.
Our close sources at GRIDco revealed that Sunday’s outage was caused by a challenge in the power system which led to a total system shutdown.
Reacting to the story, Mr. Kofi Bentil shared the very popular notion that the cause of the recent power outages is more financial than technical.
According to him, “a nation whose entire power system can shutdown at once is not safe.” He went ahead to stress that, there is no way such a total blackout would have happened if those in charge are listening to good engineers.
According to him, someone, obviously the Akufo-Addo-led government and other stakeholders are failing so badly at their job.
“someone said the power problem is more financial than technical. a nation whose entire power system can shutdown at once is not safe! someone is failing badly at his job!! If we are listening to good engineers we won’t have such total collapse,” he wrote.
