As reported by InsiderGH.com some few hours ago, Rosemond Brown, well know in the showbiz industry as Akuapem Poloo has been slapped with a 90 days prison sentence by a Circuit Court in Accra.
She was charged with publication of nude pictures with her seven-year-old son which she pleaded not guilty when she was first arraigned but changed her plea on Wednesday.
The sentence has however received massive reaction from Ghanaians, most of whom pleaded with the court to temper justice with mercy.
Reacting to the sad News, the National Communication Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), took his Twitter handle to share his view on the court ruling.
According to the renowned lawyer, he prays that the President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo intervenes to give Akuapem Poloo a presidential pardon.
He wrote: “The sentence given to @IamAkuapemPoloo is very harsh and high-handed. Given the fact that she is a first offender, pleaded guilty and showed remorse, non-custodial sentence would have been appropriate. Sad! I pray @NAkufoAddo remits her sentence or pardons her. #FreeAkuapemPoloo”
