The Chiefs and people of Lollobi and Akpafu traditional Areas have petitioned the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin to decline the request by President Akufo Addo to make Mr Dan Botwe the Minister for Local Government, Decentralisation and Rural Development.

The petition was grounded , among many other factors on the claims that Mr Dan Botwe had every opportunity to stop the disenfranchisement of the people of Santrokofi, Akpafu, Lolobi and Likpe (SALL) from happening, in his capacity as the then Minister for Regional Reorganisation and Development “but he failed and or refused to do so”.

The petition also noted that “as minister for Regional Reorganisation and Development, he incompetently supervised the forced removal of Lolobi and Akpafu from the Hohoe Municipality, in spite of clear indictions that the peple were opposed to this unlawful act”.

The chiefs and people of the Lolobi and Akpafu Traditional Areas therefore deem the Member of Parliament for the Okere constituency, unfit for the position of Minister for Local Government, Decentralisation and Rural Development.
