Salifu Issaka, the branch chairman of the National Democratic Congress in Kwesikrom in the Ellembelle Constituency of the Western Region, was murdered by a tipper truck belonging to Memphis Construction Limited.

The tragic incident occurred around 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 28, 2021, on the main Takoradi-Elubo highway.

According to eyewitnesses, the deceased was riding his motorcycle towards the Aiyinasi stretch after leaving Nkroful District Court, while the truck was also travelling in the same route.

When the NDC Chairman reached a filling station at Kamgbunli, he tried to overtake the tipper truck on the right side of the road but the driver of the truck could not recognize the motorbike.

The Chairman was suddenly killed when the tipper truck knocked him down.

With the cooperation of the family and authorization from the police, the dead, Salifu Issaka, was buried in Kamgbunli on Friday, October 29, 2021, in accordance with Islamic practice.

Salifu Issaka, 42, is survived by his wife and two children.

Meanwhile, the Ellembelle District Police Command has detained the driver of the tipper truck with the registration number GT 9652-17 for questioning.
