Ghanaian Musician-turned-politician, Kwame Asare Obeng popularly known as A Plus has urged President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to sack the Minister for Education, Hon. Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum because he is overwhelmed and confused.
According to A Plus, despite the fact that Dr. Adutwum is a fine gentleman, he is nothing close to a competent Minister.
His comments were in reaction to the reversal of the Ministry of Education’s decision to introduce a semester-based system for basic schools in the country.
Last Thursday, the Ministry stated that the trimester-based system would be phased out in favor of a semester-based approach.
However, the Ministry has reversed its decision in a statement made on Friday, January 21, 2022.
As a result, the Education Ministry has announced a new date for the basic school’s academic calendar.
