The Bono Regional Youth Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Efo Worlanyo Tsekpo, has sent a word of advice to police officers in the country, specifically the Junior Ranks.
According to him, “it is time Junior police Officers rise against their leadership if not they will continue to die on the field while their leaders attend their funerals to donate 2000 cedis and wait to be served beer and jollof from that same 2000 cedis donation.”
His statement, which was copied to InsiderGH.com, was in reaction to the recent James Town bullion van robbery, during which a policeman and one other woman were killed, with the driver sustaining serious wounds.
According to Efo Worlanyo, he had a conversation with one of his police friends and during the conversation, the police officer revealed that their welfare has never been a matter for discussion since the current IGP took over.
Efo Worlanyo went ahead to state that, the superiors in the police service are bought with goodies from the Akufo-Addo-led NPP administration so they don’t care about what their officers go through.
According to him, the current Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr. James Oppong-Boanuh
“is the worst of all IGPs in the history of Ghana. This is the man who under his watch four people were killed in his region and till date no arrest has been made.”
