Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs and Majority Leader, claims that his culture does not support LGBTQ+ activities.
“My upbring does not in any way support this kind of activities,” he emphatically said in an interview on NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’.
This comes after his party’s deputy general secretary complained that the majority in parliament had been silent on the LGBTQ+ debates.
Nana Obiri Boahen is said to have questioned the NPP’s stance on the contentious issue in parliament.
However, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu stated that, despite culture’s disapproval of LGBTQ+ activities – “lawfully, we’ll debate on it in parliament.”
