Mr. Jonathan Asante Okyere, a political analyst and lecturer at the University of Cape Coast, has lauded the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the significant gains it has made in the governance of the country since the inception of the Fourth Republic.

On the 29th anniversary of the National Democratic Congress, Mr. Asante Okyere made a historical analysis on the strengths and weaknesses of the party, concluding that in comparison with the ruling New Patriotic Party, the NDC does much better in government.

Mr. Asante Okyere also pointed out that the NDC has played a very instrumental role in all sectors of the economy during their period in government.

According to him, the NDC has done perfectly well than the NPP in the sectors of Energy, Roads, Infrastructure in the health and other sectors, Education and many other sectors.

He went ahead to state that per the performance of the two parties, there is no way the NPP can compare its achievements to that of NDC.

In Energy, for instance, Mr. Asante Okyere noted that aside the huge investment made by the NDC in the energy sector, the party also took a bold and commendable step to extend electricity to most parts of the country.
