Nigerian musician and businessman, Peter Okoye who is one of the members of famous Nigerian based music group P-Square, known in showbiz circles as Mr. P, has collaborated with Charles Kojo Bucknor, a Ghanaian agribusiness entrepreneur and business executive to produce a new beverage.
Currently, the musician is in Ghana to meet with Kojo Bucknor and other members of their new venture in order to plan the way forward for their new business.
According to Mr. P, just like Jay Z, 50 Cent and other American showbiz persons who are making it big with their business, he is also in the same category with them, engaging in various businesses to expand his empire.
The new venture between the musician and his Ghanaian partners, led to the production of Aphro Palm Spirit. Aphro, as it is popularly known, is locally tapped from the trunk of Palm trees, a ‘Palm Spirit’, typical to the West African sub-region.
Aphro is triple-distilled to give a smooth, premium finish and further infused with tropical fruits, herbs and spices, from all parts of Africa, to take you on a journey of tradition and culture.
In an interview with Joy News’ Becky, Kojo Bucknor revealed that many experts from various fields came together for the emergence of “Aphro.” According to Mr. P, the impact he has made as far as afrobeat is concerned, and the manner in which afrobeat has brought the African continent together makes it necessary for Africans to come out with their own premium product.
He went ahead to explain why they have chosen Ghana for the production of the product. According to him, the idea of bringing “Aphro” into being started in Ghana and that respect must be given necessarily.
He further went ahead to say that had it not because of Covid-19, they would have opened branches in other countries.
