Multiple Reports available to InsiderGH.com indicates that Black Stars coach, Milovan Rajevic, wants to strip off the Black Stars captaincy from Andre Dede Ayew.
Though the reason for the decision is not clear, The Post understands talks has been held on who should be the new captain should Ayew lose the armband.
Milo has reportedly told Ayew he cannot guarantee him a place in the starting eleven like the previous coaches.
Also, some Black Stars players, according to the report, want Thomas Partey as to lead the team as they do not like Ayew’s leadership qualities.
Ayew has been the captain of the Ghanaian national team since 2019.
In May 2019, the then Black Stars Coach, Kwasi Appiah, confirmed André Ayew as the new captain of the Black Stars with Kwadwo Asamoah as his deputy.
The country’s all-time leading scorer Asamoah Gyan who was striped of the armband was re-assisgned as General Captain.
A statement on the Ghana FA website read: ”This follows a meeting with the top brass of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Normalization Committee (NC) after which approval and full backing was granted to the plans of the coach.
”Ayew replaces Asamoah Gyan, as captain of the Black Stars. Gyan, who has captained the Black Stars for a record seven years has been elevated to the position of “General Captain”.
