The Executive Director of policy think tank, Alliance for Social Equity and Public Accountability (ASEPA), Mr. Mensah Thompson has taken on former Minister of Finance, Mr. Seth Terkper and Former Mayor of Kumasi, Mr. Kojo Bonsu over their recent comments.
According to Mr. Mensah Thompson, Mr. Seth Terkper and Mr. Kojo Bonsu must respectfully “shut up.”
On Mr. Kojo Bonsu, Mr. Thompson stated that someone should be bold enough to shut him up from his needless tantrums against his former boss, Former President John Mahama.
According to him, if John Mahama ever made any mistake whiles in office as President, it was the appointment of Kojo Bonsu as mayor of Kumasi.
Mr. Mensah Thompson’s statement comes after the Former Kumasi Mayor made these comments in a recent interview.
On Mr. Seth Tekper, Mensah Thompson noted that “for a Finance Minister who imposed a fiscal policy that involved taxes on Condoms and cutlasses in 2016 we cannot accept his sympathy on E-levy however good willed.”
According to him, everyone in Ghana can complain about the E-levy except the former Finance Minister, Seth Tekper.
Mr. Mensah Thompson made these comments in reaction to the Former Finance Minister’s new voice in criticizing the controversial E-levy.
In a recent press release, the Former Finance Minister revealed that he is against the E-levy and further described it as the “most nuisance of all nuisance taxes” as filed in this report.
