Former President John Dramani Mahama has recounted how the late Captain Kojo Tsikata played a key role during his days as President of the Republic of Ghana.
According to him, the NDC will miss Captain Kojo Tsikata as a critical thinker, a master strategist and his stabilising presence.
He also stated that he will personally remember Captain Kojo Tsikata because during his days as President of Ghana, there were critical moments when Captain’s sharp mind helped him to resolve critical issues of governance and matters related to the NDC.
He stated that, “the passing of our senior comrade, pan africanist, and freedom fighter, Captain Kojo Tsikata (Rtd.) is a great loss to the National Democratic Congress, Ghana, Africa and all progressives movements across the globe.”
According to him, the late Captain Kojo Tsikata “contributed immensely to the development, peace and stability of Ghana, the global liberation movement and actually fought alongside our Cuban comrades in Angola in the war against the forces of apartheid and colonialism.”
The former President believes that Captain Kojo Tsikata’s “position as National Security Capo, ensured the stabilization of Ghana’s political environment leading eventually to the establishment of our 4th Republic, which has been the most enduring in our history.”
