Former President John Dramani Mahama is likely to come face-to-face with Former Minister for Finance under President Mills, Dr. Kwabena Duffuor, in the 2024 Flagbearership race of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
According to our source, Dr. Kwabena Duffuor is lacing his boots to contest Former President John Dramani Mahama in the Flagbearership race ahead of the 2024 Presidential and Parliamentary elections.
Claims by Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, also affirms this. He believes that Dr. Kwabena Duffuor is in good standing in terms of financial strength and public service to face John Mahama.
A recent Facebook post via the official Facebook page of Dr. Duffuor also seems to have confirmed rumors of his plans to contest John Mahama.
His post was in reaction to Former President John Dramani Mahama’s “Do or Die” comment.
According to him, “this is the time for peace and cooperation, not for violence and divisiveness. Leadership is not about ego or even Election Day, but putting the health, prosperity and safety of Ghanaians first every single day, all year round. Our children are hungry, our people are hurting, let’s not resort to conflict but come together for the betterment of all.”
“When the country wins, its leader wins, and the success of the weakest among us should be the only priority for the strongest among us.
This can not be achieved through harsh words, violence or politicking, but through peace, humility and hard work. In these times of great uncertainty, it is important to remember that words matter and carry great weight!
May we all put Ghana first, and remember that party colours will never trump the unity of red, yellow and green,” he stated.
