Information reaching confirms that Virgil Abloh, the founder of luxury streetwear brand Off-White, who doubles as the artistic director of men’s wear at Louis Vuitton, has died from cancer at the age of 41.

Reports indicate that he had been privately battling the disease for a while now and has passed on on Sunday at a Hospital in Houston.

According to a statement posted on his Instagram, Abloh died after a two-year battle with “a rare, aggressive form of cancer” called cardiac angiosarcoma, a health issue that was unknown to the public until his death.

“We are devastated to announce the passing of our beloved Virgil Abloh, a fiercely devoted father, husband, son, brother, and friend. He is survived by his loving wife Shannon Abloh, his children Lowe Abloh and Grey Abloh, his sister Edwina Abloh, his parents Nee and Eunice Abloh, and numerous dear friends and colleagues,” a statement from Abloh’s family posted via his Instagram account stated.
