Mr Eugene Arhin, the director of Communications at the Presidency has announced state befitting and palpable burial in honour of the late high life legendary Nana Ampadu.
The statement was released at the Weekly Jubilee Press Briefing taking place today at the Jubilee House.
“Finally, the President has taken the decision to honour the late, legendary Ghanaian highlife musician, Nana Ampadu, with a state-assisted burial in honour of his services to the growth of Ghanaian music. This information will be duly communicated to the family of the late singer. And a befitting burial ceremony will be held for this noble son of Ghana.”
Highlife musician Nana Ampadu died on Tuesday, September 28, after a short ailment.
Ampadu was born on 31st March 1945 at Adiemmra on the obo kwahu in the Eastern Region of Ghana.He was named Kwame Ampadu after his father, opanin Kwame Ampadu, the Then head of Asona Clan of Obo kwahu in the Eastern Region and madam mercy Afua Ntiriwaa, a devoted presbyter .
