Elikem Kotoko, a member of the Communication Team of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has urged Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia to leave the digitalization agenda to the Minister for Communication and give Ghanaians a lecture on why the dollar to cedi rate is now ¢6.09.
His comment was in reaction to Dr. Bawumia’s recent lecture on measure’s taken by government to transform the Ghanaian economy through digitalization.
According to him, Dr Bawumia is trying to find an escape route from the bad economic records bedeviling the Akufo-Addo-led NPP government, and administration he continues to play a major role in.
He believes that the bad nature of the Ghanaian economy is forcing Dr. Bawumia to abandon his economic theories for information Technology.
“Come and give us lectures on the economy, why the cedi is now GhC6.09 to the dollar,” he stated.
According to him, Ghanaians want lectures on why a liter of petrol now costs more than a dollar.
He stressed that Dr. Bawumia must also explain to Ghanaians why the standard of living has fallen to this low level.
