The Ministry of Finance has given financial clearance to the Ministry of Education to enable the Director General of the Ghana Education Service (GES) to recruit sixteen thousand, eight hundred and fifty (16,850) newly trained teachers.

This was sighted by InsiderGH.com in a letter dated 19th November, 2021 from the Ministry of Finance to the Ministry of Education.

The Director General of GES has also been given the go ahead to ensure that the newly trained teachers have all their documents properly processed on time.

The Director General is also to ensure that the newly trained teachers are placed on the mechanized payroll early enough to enable the Controller and Accountants General’s Department effect the payment of their salaries.

According to the letter, this financial clearance will expire on 31st December 2022 and cannot be used afterwards.
