Information from a press release from Menzgold Ghana sighted by indicates that the company will start paying its creditors from today, December 20, 2021.

They have however published names of the creditors that they will start their payment with.

According to them, the mode of payment will not be cash because of security reasons.

They explained further that the decision not to pay via cash was arrived at after the Ghana Police Service advised them that the intended payment process should be done through an electronic medium, due to the some anticipated challenges the proposed payment model may pose to public peace and order.

According to the police, payment via cash will expose the beneficiaries and the employees of the company to imminent criminal attacks since they’ll be carrying cash to and fro.

The Police Service also believes that considering the level of interest the public has in this issue, the place designated for payment will be over crowded which will create public order management issues.

The Police in their advise to the company also sighted that any attempt to pay through cash will make the entire process a breeding grounds for the dreaded Covid-19 pandemic.

According to the company, because of the aforementioned advices from the Ghana Police Service, Menzgold will resort to direct bank deposits from 20th December 2021 to 30th June 2022.
