Multiple reports available to InsiderGH.com indicates that the Ayew brothers, Andre Dede Ayew and Jordan Ayew have reportedly quit the senior national team.

According to a report filed by Football Ghana, the Ayew brothers who have played a key role in the Black Stars for the past years, have decided to quit playing for the team for unknown reasons.

Although the reason for this decision is yet to be known, football lovers and some Sports analysts in the country believe that the poor performance of the Black Stars at the ongoing AFCON tournament in Cameroon, especially their early exit, was key in taking the decision to hang their national team boots.

Checks by InsiderGH.com reveals that this is not the first time reports in the media are suggesting that the Ayew brothers have decided to quit playing for the Black Stars.

In the run-up to the 2013 AFCON tournament in South Africa, a similar news went viral after the duo announced a temporary break from the Black Stars as their disagreements with the GFA got intensified.

“My decision to withdraw my services from the national team results from a number of issues or matters that have occurred quite recently, especially with regard to my relationship with the management team of the senior national team. These matters have so affected me emotionally and psychologically that I am unable presently to offer the best of my services to my dear nation,” Andrew noted in 2013.

On his side, Jordan stated in 2013 that he was temporarily quitting so that he can play well at club level and “obtain the quality, experience and stature necessary for a call-up to play in the national team”.

Meanwhile, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has confirmed that Black Stars head coach Milovan Rajevac has been fired by the GFA’s Executive Council.

According to the FA, the Black Stars’ technical team has been also been dissolved.
