wishes to apologise to Inspector Abdul Hamid Yakubu Mahama over the usage of a wrong featured image in a story we published on 26th June, 2021.

In the story, we gave a detailed account of how Personnel of the Upper West Regional Police Emergency Patrol Team had engaged in a shootout with two robbers on the Tamale-Bolga Highway around 13:30 on Saturday, June 26, 2021.

Though the entire account given in the afformentioned report was correct, we mistakenly used an image of Inspector Abdul Hamid Yakubu Mahama of the National SWAT team at the National Police Headquaters as the featured image.

Inspector Abdul Hamid Yakubu Mahama is a professional police officer with no criminal record.

Though the picture of the Inspector was quickly replaced few hours after the publication of the story, we want to apologise unreservedly to Inspector Abdul Hamid Yakubu for our inaccurate featured image, which has subjected him to public ridicule, embarrassment and much pain.

We have already talked with Inspector Abdul Hamid Yakubu Mahama on the aforementioned subject and accordingly apologised to him for the inconveniences caused him and his family by the usage of his picture as the featured image of that report.
