The Inspector-General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare continues to receive massive praise for the new dynamism he has brought to the Police Service since his appointment as IGP.

On Friday, October 22, 2021, Dr. Dampare and his team visited night barrier and night patrol duty men on the Tamale-Walewale – Bolgatanga road.

He started the night visits after seeing to the successful evacuation of three injured police officers and two deceased officers from Tamale to Accra.

As reported by earlier, two officers of the Ghana Police Service who are members of a highly-trained Anti-roberry Taskforce have died in a fatal accident on the Walewale-Bolgatanga Highway.

The two were part of a five-member team which was deployed to that area to respond to an emergency.

The other three members, who are reported to be in critical condition, have been sent to Walewale in the North East Region of Ghana, and later evacuated to Accra.

During the visits, the IGP listened to the needs and concerns of the personnel and urged them to be professional in the discharge of their duties.

He reminded them to work with integrity and strive to uphold the name of the service at all times.

He also assured them that the Police Administration will stand with any officer who does the right thing.

With him on the visit were the Northern Regional Police Commander, COP/Mr Timothy Yoosa Bonga, North East Regional Commander, DCOP/Mr. Moses Ali Kpeachin and other Senior Officers of the Tamale Regional Police Command.
