The Executive Director of Alliance for Social Equity And Public Accountability (ASEPA), Mr. Mensah Thompson has alleged that the Serwah Broni Scandal that took the Presidency by surprise some weeks ago has shredded President Akufo-Addo’s image in the international community to the extent that it denied him the chance to meet President Joe Biden of the United States of America.
According to Mensah Thompson, the last time the President went to the US, he was originally scheduled to meet President Joe Biden but instead they sent Vice-President Kamala Harris to meet him.
“When it was his time to address the UN General Assembly, the hall was practically empty as all the powerful World leaders had abandoned his presence,” he stated.
Mr. Mensah Thompson also stated that the “Serwaa Broni scandal has shredded President Akufo-Addo’s image to a piece of toilet paper in the eyes of the International Community to the extent that since the incident, no high-level President has agreed to meet him anytime he travels.”
He also alleged that the “so-called Forbes African of the Year Award was arranged for President Akufo-Addo to clean up his image” because of the Serwaa Broni scandal.
He added that the Serwah Broni scandal was properly and efficiently suppressed here back home but unfortunately they couldn’t micro-manage the President’s image in the eyes of the international community.
According to him, the diplomatic embarrassment being suffered by the President and his protocol team were getting frustrating and something needed to be done to clean him up a bit.
He added that in the attempt to clean the President’s international image up a bit, they eventually found an answer in the African Forbes Magazine based in South Africa with no ties to the original Forbes Magazine.
