Maadi Jibril, a Communication Team Member of opposition National Democratic Congress ( NDC), has argued that, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) would have blamed John Dramani Mahama for the current power outages (dumsor) the country is experiencing if the latter had won the 2020 elections.

According to him, the NPP, together with it’s members would have been seriously blaming and attacking John Dramani Mahama over the Dumsor issue if it was the case that John Mahama won the 2020 elections and became President.

“If John Mahama is the president of Ghana today and there’s this frequent power outages, the NPP would have said that they have managed the power sector situation for the four years of their administration and that John Mahama is the one who has brought back Dumsor,” he stated.

Speaking on Neat FM on 15th April 2021, Mr. Maadi Jibril stated that the Akufo-Addo-led NPP government should quickly publish Dumsor Timetable so that Ghanaians would be able to properly plan their business activities.

He argued that, the NPP should stop telling Ghanaian that it is not yet time for the government to publish Dumsor Timetable.

According to him, the government did this same mistake when experts and Ghanaians in general, called for a lockdown in the heat of the dreaded covid-19 pandemic.

He went ahead to state that, the government is seriously shying away from accepting the fact that they have not been able to efficiently manage the extra megawatts of power generated by the John Mahama administration and as a result, brought back Dumsor.
