Hon. James Gunu, a Former District Chief Executive for Akatsi North, who is currently the Volta Regional Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has urged candidates taking part in this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) to give their best performances in the ongoing examination.
According to him, this is the right time for the candidates to justify the investments their parents and guardians have made in them by giving their best performances that can propel them to the next level.
He reminded the candidates that the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia-led NPP government has destroyed Ghana’s education and are now busily looking at where to put the blame.
“My humble advice to you is that you must eschew all forms of exam malpractices so that you are not used as scapegoats for gov’t failure,” he stated.
The Volta Regional Secretary of the NDC also congratulated all the candidates for making it to this stage of the educational ladder amidst the unprecedented economic hardship and bad governance.
He also reminded the candidates of the fact that “the roots of education are bitter, but the fruit is sweet,” as stated by Aristotle.
Mr. Gunu stressed that “this government lacks what it takes to guarantee the best future you desire for. Therefore, do not hesitate to join us to change them come 2024 when most of you would have attained the voting age.”
