Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, a leading member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has reacted to Speaker Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin’s new traditional outfit.
His reaction comes after photos of Speaker Bagbin presiding over the First Sitting of the Meeting of the Second Session of the Eighth Parliament of the Fourth Republic in a traditional attire went viral.
As reported earlier, Rt. Hon. Bagbin took the nation, especially the media, Parliamentary watchers by surprise as he appeared in the chamber all dressed like a chief.

In his official welcome to the House, the Speaker urged the Members to take a cue from his outfit and dress in traditional wear just like the first President of the nation, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.
Reacting to the Speaker’s new look in the chamber, Mr. Otchere-Darko stated that he likes Rt. Hon. Bagbin’s outfit because it is originally, culturally and representatively cool.
However, he cautioned Rt. Hon. Bagbin not to be majestically carried away with kingly thoughts and behaviour as he starts dressing like a king to the chamber.

In a separate post on Facebook, Mr. Otchere-Darko described Speaker Bagbin as “His Royal Highness.
