Paa Joe Kumah, a former Black Stars and Great Olympics player, has died on Sunday, December 12th at the age of 42.
According to reports from the Kumah family, he died at the Tema General Hospital after a short illness.
The exact illness that took him to the Tema General Hospital, where he unfortunately died is yet to be known, but in a recent interview with SVTV Africa before his sudden demise, Paa Joe revealed that after his retirement, he became frustrated and eventually became an alcoholic.
“Yes, there was a lot of drinking,” he stated.
“Yes, the drinking was because of frustration. Because if someone confesses that he or she is the one that caused your leg injury or caused this. So I might even want to do him or her something. I’m a human being too. But I did not,” he further stated.
Paa Joe Kumah was called to the Black Stars alongside Asamoah Gyan and others in the mid-2000s.
