A fake Lawyer, Kyei Baffuor, has been arrested by Nyinahini Police for faking as a lawyer and representing a client on a murder case.

The fake Lawyer was representing Serlom Agama, who has been charged with murder and was facing trial at the Nyinahini magistrate court.

According to reports, the judge, Her Ladyship Victoria Akornor spotted some irregularities in the actions of Mr. Kyei Baffuor during the first trial.

The irregularities alarmed the judge to conduct some investigations to be sure if Kyei Baffuor is really a lawyer.

Checks from the Ghana Bar Association and General Legal Council have proven that Kyei Baffuor’s name is not part of the list of Lawyer’s with the necessary documentation to practice as a lawyer in Ghana.

During the third trial, when asked if he was really a lawyer, he responded that he was called to the Ghana Bar in 2015.

He further stated EAR21053/21 as his membership number.

The judge later revealed to him the fact that she had him investigated and everything proves that he is not a lawyer as he was holding himself.

Explaining himself to the court, Mr. Kyei Baffuor indicated that he took a short course in law while staying in California.

He further stated that he has made few attempts to gain admission into the Ghana School of Law but has failed.

He was quickly taken into police custody and is likely to appear before court in the coming days.
