At least eight people have been arrested by officers of the Ghana Police Service at the just ended National Delegates’ Conference of the ruling New Patriotic Party(NPP) in the Ashanti Regional capital, Kumasi.

The all-male suspects who are yet to be identified were arrested by officers of the Ghana Police Service for breaching protocols at the grounds.

They have all been taken away by the police who have indicated that they have already commenced investigations into developments leading to their arrest.

According to our sources within the NPP, about 400 surveillance cameras were installed at strategic positions at the Heroes’ Park at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi, the venue of the two-day conference.

Similar surveillance cameras were also reported to have been mounted at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) campus, where the delegates lodged.

Aside the help offered by some party volunteers for the eight suspects to be arrested, it is believed that the surveillance cameras played a key role in the arrest.
