The Member of Parliament for Abuakwa South, Hon. Samuel Atta Kyea has sent a strong message to the embattled Member of Parliament for Assin North Constituency, Hon. James Gyakye Quayson.
According to Mr. Atta Kyea, the Majority Caucus will prevent the Assin North MP from taking part in Parliamentary Business because a High Court has declared him unfit to hold himself as an MP.
He further added that since a non-MP cannot take part in Parliamentary business, there is no way the Majority Caucus will allow one[Assin North MP] to join them in conducting the business of the house.
“He should not be in the Chamber, because it has been declared that he is not an MP. This is common sense. I was even surprised that the Speaker did not even asked him to get out of the Chamber,” he stated.
Mr. Atta Kyea stressed that, “as we are talking now, he[Assin North MP] is no more the MP for his constituency by the powers of the High Court and so anytime he is seen in the Chamber, we will alert the Speaker that a stranger has entered the Chamber because he is now a stranger to the Chamberr.”
