The Member of Parliament for Ajumako Enyan Essiam Constituency in the Central, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, has reacted to criminal charges filed against him by the Attorney General and Minister for Justice, Godfred Yeboah Dame.

Earlier today, the Attorney General filed criminal charges against Dr. Ato Forson and two others for causing a €2.37 million financial loss to the state in a deal to purchase some 200 ambulances for the country between 2014 and 2016.

The two others who have been sued together with the Former Deputy Minister of Finance are Sylvester Anemana, who is a former Chief Director of the Ministry of Health and Mr. Richard Jakpa, a businessman.

The three were dragged to the Accra High Court on five counts of wilfully causing financial loss to the state, abetment to wilfully cause financial loss to the state, contravention of the public procurement act and intentionally misapplying public property.

Reacting to the charges, Dr. Ato Forson urged Ghanaians to remain calm because he will organize a press conference tomorrow, December 24, 2021 to address the issues surrounding the criminal charges brought against him by the Akufo-Addo-led administration through the Attorney General.

He went further to assure Ghanaians that he shall not be distracted by the machinations of the State just because he stands with Ghanaians to oppose repressive policies of the Akufo-Addo-led government.
