The chiefs and people of Anlo State, will on Friday, November 12, 2021, hold a special durbar to mark the first anniversary of former President Jerry Rawlings‘ death.

The ceremony, which will be held in strict compliance with the covid-19 safety regulations, will come off at the Hogbe in Anloga, with typical black and red dress required.

According to a press release signed by Torgbi Awusu Agbesi III, Awadada of the Anlo State, “this first commemorative event marks the first in a series of manifestations by the Chiefs and People of the Anlo State which will eventually result in the reburial of our Son and Icon on Anloland in due course.”

Meanwhile, a memorial liturgy will be held at the Holy Spirit Cathedral in Adabraka, Accra, on the same day for the late Former President Jerry John Rawlings.
