A 42-year-old police officer, Sergeant Emmanuel Duah popularly known as Bob Marley has been interdicted for defiling a 13-year-old girl.
Sergeant Emmanuel Duah was accused of defiling the young girl at Ave Xevi in the Akatsi North District of the Volta region in September this year.
On September 29, 2021, the suspect, who was stationed at a police checkpoint was reported to have allegedly abducted a class 5 student from the Ave Xevi Roman Catholic Primary School in the Akatsi North District of the Volta region.
Reports indicated that he forcibly defiled the young girl twice in a newly constructed police station that is yet to be commissioned.
Prior to the heinous crime, the victim was believed to have had no previous sexual encounters.
News about his interdiction was made known by Chief Superintendent Opare Addo in an interview with EIB Network’s Volta Regional correspondent, Faisel Abdul-Iddrisu.
According to him, the interdiction of Sergeant Emmanuel Duah, is in accordance with the police department’s administrative procedures.
“We have done our investigations and sent the report to the Volta regional headquarters. But what I can confirm to you at the moment is the fact that the suspect, Sergeant Emmanuel Duah has been interdicted; his uniform and other accoutrements have been taken away from him,” he stated.
