Afari Military Hospital, a completed military Hospital in the Ashanti Region of Ghana has been left to rot for several years.

For about a week ago, there were several discussions in the media about the future of the abandoned Saglemi Housing Project which was constructed by the John Dramani Mahama-led NDC administration before handing over power to the incumbent Akufo-Addo-led NPP government.

Videos sighted by suggested that there are many more Government of Ghana projects that has been abandoned, with the latest been the military Hospital at Afari, in the Ashanti Region.

The abandoned military Hospital is located in Afari, near Nkawie, in the Atwima Nwabiagya District of the Ashanti Region.

The Afari Military Hospital is a 500-bed facility being constructed at a cost of $180 million and will on completion have a residential facility for the medical staff, kitchen, laundry, mortuary, a primary health care facility and will also serve as a referral centre.

Construction works began in March 2014, during the era of Former President John Dramani Mahama, and was expected to be completed by September 2017.

However, new videos that has emerged on social media indicates that just like the Saglemi Housing Project, the Afari Military Hospital too has been abandoned.
